GENERAL OVERVIEW

The POA is governed by a board of directors comprised of a president, vice president, and a secretary/treasurer. The present board is appointed by the developer and shall serve until such time as the subdivision is substantially complete. At that time, control of the board will be turned over to the property owners, at which time the board members will be elected by popular vote.

The board is assisted by an advisory board comprised of five property owners elected to serve three-year staggered terms of office. There is no distinction as to type of ownership, i.e., homeowner or lot owner. The advisory board provides input and advice to the board and serves as a liaison between the board and property owners.

The POA maintains full time on-site staff directed by the general manager. There are four basic operational departments within the POA:

Bentwater POA retains the services of Association Management, Inc. whose President and CEO, David Regenbaum, is a nationally renown expert on subdivision management. They offer a wide variety of services. AMI, Houston’s oldest and largest property management company, has been involved in the management of planned communities since 1979 and provides the Bentwater POA with accounting and administrative services such as planning, organizing and assisting in board meetings and maintaining records for the POA , providing computerized deed restriction enforcement programs, and consulting on community issues. AMI also attends to the collection of assessments, the payment of bills and the review of monthly financial statements.

CONSULTANTS 

Bleyl Engineering

Bleyl Engineering is a professional civil-engineering consulting firm headed by Texas A&M graduate, John Bleyl, PE, with two offices and more than 39 employees. They consult with the POA on architectural control, drainage, maintenance, and construction issues and manage the street maintenance contracts.
